Tuition includes most materials and individualized instruction by working artists for all levels of experiences.
Please note: Classes start the week of June 30 and run through the week of August 15, 2008. Summer Class sessions are 8 weeks unless otherwise noted.

| River Gallery School has an outreach program which includes collaborations with Kindle Farm and the Brattleboro Area Middle School as well as programs with Westgate, Brattleboro Senior Center, Visiting Nurses and other area organizations.

Adult Studio and Painting

Studio class focuses on individual process, creativity and expression, employing a variety of media and techniques, including oils, acrylics, pastel, charcoal, watercolor and sequencing. Projects are developed individually with instructors. Suitable for all levels of experience.

Working from the live model, students will be offered instruction in technique and materials, and will be encouraged to explore their individual process. Open to all levels of experience.

Join us for plein air landscape painting at beautiful historic Scott Farm in Dummerston. Work in oil, watercolor, pastels, oil pastels, or mixed media.

Assemblage (new schedule 06/011)

Create your own drawings, paintings and prints, then incorporate them into unique mixed media assemblages. We will learn joinery and adhering techniques to combine our own artwork with three dimensional objects such as wood, metal, old boxes and books.

Mixed Media for Teens (new schedule 06/11)

We will explore collage, paste paper, painting, and drawing. Unlimited possiblities using a variety of materials.

Time Lapse & Cut-out Stop Motion Animation (new schedule 06/11)
One Day workshop for ages 12 and older
Fee: $75

Class time: Saturday, 10 am 4 pm, July 26
Participants will use paper cut-outs from magazines and time lapse images with live actors people to create two short animations. The "cut out" animation is most familiar to people who have seen Monty Python.
Live action time lapse allows animators to create images of people flying or moving in otherwise impossible ways. The workshop will allow students the chance to create up to two animations with music (approx 8 minutes). Participants need to bring their lap top and a camcorder (if they have one). Students will break into groups of 2 so sharing is possible.
Limited to 8 participants - 12 yrs and up.
Rolf Parker-Houghton is the Director of Sevincer Animation Festival, established 2004. Parker-Houghton formerly taught video production at Landmark College in Putney, VT.

A dynamic, hands-on project based class for students ages 3-5 yrs old. Many exciting projects will be presented specifically geared to this process-oriented age group.

Home-Schooler's Art Class (new schedule 06/11)

Individualized approach to painting, drawing, and sculpture in an environment where we nurture each childs free imagination. Art materials includes pencil, pastels, acrylic, collage, clay, and basic printmaking. For ages 5 and up. Parent involvement optional.
